Here’s another Halloween-inspired creation. This was a plain doll that I found at a thrift store and it was all brown-colored when I got it. I put it through the Halloween machine and this is what came out.

Paper Mache Attempt

Halloween Paper Mache

This was a fun side project that I would tinker with in the evenings of doing my regular work, last month. I wanted to try to make a jack o’ lantern plant out of paper mache. It took some time to do all the layers of newspaper strips, but a pop in the oven would speed the drying process. The end result isn’t quite like the sketch, but if anything, it served as a learning experience. I hope to try more someday.

Halloween Print

The Halloweeen-inspired madness continues…Here’s another image done in the similar style as the previous, “Humpty Pumpkin”. I was trying to go for a vintage look to these.

Humpty Pumpkin Rhode Montijo

October is usually a crazy productive time for me, because of my favorite holiday at the end of the month, Halloween. I love me some Halloween! I also always look forward to Dia de los Muertos, which follows on November 2nd. I tend to get really inspired around this time and produce things more than I normally do. I started to feel the season change here last month, so the madness began a bit earlier than scheduled. On the side, I’ve been doing some Halloween and Day of the Dead drawings and crafts, that I hope to share here, in the days leading up to the festivities. I also hope to share some past works that I have never posted, including one of my favorite yearly traditions at my parents’ house. I hope you’ll make a return visit for that. Here’s one drawing, for now…

Thanks for visiting,
